Horsetail’s wonderful, erect form can be very useful in the landscape, especially around ponds, where its slender, hollow, segmented stems can rise 4 ft. tall or more. A native of California coastal wetlands and mountain streams, it spreads vigorously in clumps.  In an irrigated garden, it can become invasive and is best confined to containers. An excellent choice for a large pot. Provide sun to medium shade and regular water. Deer resistant.
