March Newsletter

Now Open Saturdays!

Beginning March 1st our business hours have changed. Now open Monday through Friday 9 - 5 and Saturdays 10 - 4. Closed Sundays until April.

Progress continues with our clean up efforts and putting out new crops. Each week there will be more available.

Check out our latest inventory for current availability. We have a good supply of deciduous shrubs such as flowering currants, mock orange, elderberries, western spice bush, redtwig dogwood and spiraea.

Highlights include our crop of one gallon Trillium chlorapetalum. Started from seed in 2007 this crop requires patience. Last year they began to bloom with flower color ranging from white to maroon and even an occasional pink. Unless showing color, it will be a surprise, but all are beautiful. An elegant and long lived species, once established the clumps will return year after year. Gallon plants are $15.

Woolly blue curls is one of the most beautiful and sought after native plants. Difficult to propagate and not common in the trade, we have brought in two gallon plants from Native Sons Nursery. Available while supplies last for $20 each.

Liners Available

Sometimes we have bumper crops, where we have met our needs for four inch or gallon production. These young crops are in liners, a term we use for small-sized starter plants, that will eventually be potted into larger container sizes. We thought we would offer this abundance directly to our customers, a chance to purchase vigorous starter plants for planting directly into the garden or potting up into larger containers. $5 each.

Five Inch Sleeves:

Chlorogalum pomeridianum v. pomeridianum

Lillium humboldtii

Lomatium californicum

Lomatium dasycarpum

Perideridia kelloggii
