The giant chain fern is the largest American fern with fronds 3 - 5 ft. tall or more. Prefers part shade with regular water. Can grow in open areas within the fog belt as long as it has steady moisture. Great in woodland gardens near pool or stream or against a shady wall. Deer resistant.
