woolly Jerusalem sage
Endemic to Crete, this smaller Jerusalem sage forms a durable, compact, shrub 2 – 3 ft. tall by 4 foot or more wide. Rounded, woolly, sage-green leaves clothe stems that are covered in golden hairs. Blooms over a long period, from spring through fall with golden-yellow flowers in whorls just above the foliage. Plant in full sun where it will be drought tolerant once established. Bees and hummingbirds work the flowers. Deer and rabbit resistant.
