Salvia argentea
silver sage

This sage is grown for its amazing foliage and makes a dramatic accent plant. Forms a low, wide rosette of intensely silver woolly leaves to about 2 ft. wide. Flowering usually occurs the second year with 2 - 3 ft. tall candelabra-like stalks of white flowers which makes an interesting feature. Considered a short lived perennial, it is recommended to cut down the flower stalk before it sets seed to lengthen its life. Plant in full sun with good drainage with a little summer water.
