*Ribes sanguineum v. glutinosum
(Marin County)
pink flowering currant

We found this growing along Tomales Bay in Marin County. It has very nice long racemes of medium pink flowers in early spring. A deciduous shrub growing 5 ft. or more tall. Plant in cool full sun to light shade inland with moderate to occasional summer water. An excellent early nectar source for hummingbirds and the berries attract many birds including grosbeak and mockingbirds.
