Physocarpus opulifolius ‘Nugget’
golden ninebark

This eastern North American native shrub was selected by South Dakota State University for its densely compact habit, growing 6 ft. tall by 5 ft. wide. Foliage emerges vibrant glowing yellow in the spring maturing to yellow-green by summer. The yellow foliage color intensifies again before falling in autumn. Clusters of small white flowers in late spring and interesting peeling bark add to its charm. Best with regular to moderate summer water and protection from the hottest sun.
