*Hoita macrostachya
psoralea

Perennial herb native to moist areas in a number of different habitats throughout California. Found streamside, near marshes or spring - moist places, this subtle beauty forms a loose mound of foliage 3 ft. or more tall and wide with lavender pea-like flowers in summer.  A nitrogen fixer and soil stabilizer this native plant is useful in restoring habitats along creeks in sun to part shade with moisture. Roots used by native people for cordage.
