Fuchsia magellanica ‘Riccartonii’
fuchsia

An old hybrid dating back to 1838. Grows into a large arching shrub 5 ft. or so tall. The flowers are profuse and the usual crimson and purple (with green-tipped sepals), but smaller and more rounded than most Fuchsia magellanicas. Excellent in the ground or large containers in lightly shaded areas with regular water. Graham Stuart Thomas gives it a H as he considers it a really good garden plant. Hummingbirds like it too. NOT resistant to fuchsia gall mite.
