blue ryegrass

Stiffly upright clump forming grass with blue-green blades native to much of the western U. S.. The flowers form narrow vertical spikes emerging green, drying to straw color. Grows about 4 ft. tall. Will take full sun near coast - best with light shade in hot regions. Summer water keeps plants green longer, will go dormant with drought. Adaptable. Deer resistant.
