Digitalis parviflora
foxglove

An intriguing perennial with rosettes of foliage about a foot across. Mid spring, the flower stalks rise 2 ft. or so tall. The densely packed, small rust colored flowers are nestled in among long green bracts - a very architectual effect. Full sun to a little shade, well drained soil, and some water. Deer usually leave digitalis alone.
