A wonderful deciduous vine growing 20 ft. or more tall with beautiful crimson new growth maturing to bronzy green. Early spring brings a fantastic display of sweetly fragrant 2 inch pink anemone-like blossoms. Clematis prefer rich, well draining soils in full sun to light shade with regular water. They appreciate root protection which can be provided by mulching or planting a ground cover or low shrub to cover the root area. They will also need the support of a fence, trellis, arbor, or tree to use as a framework for their twining stems.
