*Ceanothus ‘Joyce Coulter’
California lilac

A medium size mounding evergreen shrub. Grows 3 - 5 ft. tall and spreads as much as 12 ft. wide. Medium-blue flowers cover shrub in spring. Tolerates garden conditions better than most ceanothus. Responds well to shearing. Plant in full sun. Is drought tolerant but best with some summer water in hot interior sites. Shrubby ceanothus provide seeds eaten by bushtits, mockingbirds, quail and finches, as well as cover for birds.
