California lilac

On of the earliest blooming California lilacs. Low spreading evergreen shrub 2 - 3 ft. tall, 8 - 10 ft. wide with dark green hollylike leaves. Dark violet blue, 1 inch clusters of flowers cover the shrub in early spring. Sun and drought tolerant. Shrubby ceanothus provide seeds eaten by bushtits, mockingbirds, quail and finches, as well as cover for birds.
