Buddleia salvifolia
butterfly bush

Don Mahoney of Strybing Arboretum praises this butterfly bush for the habitat garden. Unusual in that it flowers in the fall, the very fragrant lavender blossoms attract a wide array of insects. Birds in turn like to forage on the insects. Forms a multi-stemmed thicket 10 ft. tall and wide, for sun with moderate to regular water. Hardy to at least 20° F.
